Day 91 to 98 - Los Amigos Beach Club

After our Med Highlight Contiki Tour, we headed to the South of Spain! Leaving an hour early, we were sure we had enough time to hop onto a metro to get to our bus due to leave at 11am. However, at 10:58am on the slowest metro in the world - we had to start preparing for disappointment! I would, however, like to express that Bruce and I have officially become expert travelers and maybe even potential Amazing Race competitors. At 11:08 we still managed to find our bums on the bus, and as Bruce always says; "Public buses don't wait for anybody!", leave it up to me, and you'll be okay! I ran off the metro leaving Bruce with the bags, ran down escalators and through a train station not knowing where I was even going - only to find a bus in reverse. I started waving it down, running into the road and turing on my out-of-breathe tears (sort of) whilst shouting MALAGA!! It wasn't long until Bruce came running with all our bags to find me getting a lecture in Spanish from a bus driver in the middle of the parking lot. We didn't understand or care, WE WERE OFF TO MALAGA! We made it!

When arriving in Malaga, we had to catch another bus headed for Marbella, and hop off at 'Playa Marina Bus Stop' in Mijas Costa. At Playa Marina, we walked 100m and found our home for the next week: Los Amigos Beach Club! We were ecstatic; we had our own studio apartments with a kitchen, washing machine, a bath, and a beautiful bedroom with a TV. It was time to put our feet up and properly relax!

Mijas Costa

...AND OUR OWN WASHING MACHINE!!

It wasn't long until we were comfortably settled in and ready for a proper holiday! Before doing about 10 loads of washing, and stocking up our fridge, we explored the resort and the entertainment line-up.

Washing, washing & more washing...

For the next few days we either lay by the pool, or relaxed on the beach in front of the resort. We explored the town Mijas, Costa del Sol first - where we browsed all the summer sales and Bruce got a haircut.

The next day we packed a lunch and explored Marbella, a town for the rich and the famous on the coast. Surrounded by over 10 beautiful golf resorts and beautiful restaurants and shops, lies the most beautiful stretch of beach with typical straw umbrellas and seafood cafes. We found a spot on the beach and wallowed in the warm water for the day amongst lots of tourists, locals and topless woman. Very European!

We then chilled at our resort, and we were so lucky with the weather!
